cleaned up at Seven Luck casino in Seoul won 2 million !! thats right 2,000,000 ... korean won.... wich still works out to around $2000, which is pretty good for a single session playing the 200 game. I ended up doing a 24hr+ session again but its easy to grind massive sessions when ur running good on balance.

First, seven luck casino only allows foreign nationals so no local koreans. Mostly american koreans and a ton of japs. I believe the casino is korea's way of screwing idiot japs who don't know how to play blackjack.

Second, seven luck casino has the hottest korean dealers. They are all super cute and beautiful. Its nice touch you don't get in most western casinos where most dealers are regular mums and dads.

Third, the poker is very soft. Mostly its alot of new players who want to try poker after playing baccarat or blackjack. the snag is the casino is so small that the poker room has only 4 tables. Another quirky thing about the poker room is that 2 of the co-owners actually play the 200-500 game, and being ultra rich from all their jap patrons on the baccarat tables they are totally insane. If you can get your cards to hold up, i think this is probably the best 200-500 game in the world.

right heres the basic breakdown of the poker in seoul. You have the casino poker rooms and the UG (underground) poker rooms. The three major casino poker rooms are at Hilton, COEX and Walker. Your looking at rake of 10-15% at the casino games. By international standards the poker rooms are pretty tiny, with most of them having a capacity of 4 tables max and most days of the week you'll only be able to play a 1/2 or 2/5 game. COEX has the biggest action, with a 5/10 game most weekends and you'll be able to find their games running well into the morning. While the games are pretty small, they play a funny structure. the 1/2 game allows for maximum first buyin 500 and max 2nd buyin 1000. So while they are playing small, they love playing ultra deep.

The UG - yes, they call it the UUH-GHEE - games are the illegal underground games. Local koreans arn't actually allowed into the casinos so the local poker addicts play in these basement games. The setting goes from hardcore i wish i had a gun with me kinda feel to some really classy done up joints. The main thing is, the UG games are filled with rich ass koreans who love to gamble. it'll be minimum 5/10 and as people get stuck they'll bump it up to 10/20 and higher.. u get the idea of what kind of players they are. These games move around. Best advice is to make friends with some players from COEX who can get you into these games.

so i won't be selling any poker travel guides soon, but i bet this might be useful to anyone googling "where the fuck to play poker in seoul".

highlight of the trip. playing HU 5/10 with a local pro at COEX. within 2.5hrs i cleaned him out of 4k. the guy was used to playing tight nit strategy on full ring games and had no idea how much tougher HU was. he actually started the match saying "people think heads-up is more skilled based.. but its more luck"... i made him pay tuition.

which leads me to my first real experience playing fucking bacarrat. i have learnt bacarat is shit. the stupid computer showing previous hands means SHIT FUCK ALL. even if the pretty korean girl next to you is telling you about lines and shit like that. and to the bitch ass mother fucker who kept slow rolling me when he had natural nine... i will kill you with a baseball bat in a dark alley oneday. enough said.

I would've thought Koreans would be awesome at poker coz they are so good at maths and programming, and most koreans have alot of gamble.

maths by itself isnt enough to win at NL... i think espescially past the flop, psychology matters more than maths. met alot of tight players that thought they were good but all i saw tight weak...

baccarat is the biggest mother fucking shit game ever. and the screen which shows all the shit is the biggest piece of bullshit ever. that said... when the dealer is dealing and turning.. the action is pretty fast.. much faster than live poker.. which i think was the appeal.

YeAh there are alot of very strong Korean American players. I think the aggro don't back down culture fits well with nl where u always have the option of sticking a gun to the other guys skull and putting them to the test.
